I fought hard in Tennessee for a spot on the team, but in the end came up short. I can at least say that I gave it my all (and so did Burkley in synchro!) and can walk away from the sport without any regrets. Thanks to all for your support! I couldn't have done it without the help, prayers, and encouragement from so many. While I am sad that one chapter of my life is closing I am excited to look to the future and dream about what lies ahead. If there is anything that my 17 year diving career has taught me it is that anything truly is possible and to dream big!

I guess it was shown on the internet at www.nbcolympics.com and one of the commentators said that I seemed to have the best crowd! I totally agree. Day one is finished and I am so happy with how I did. I have really been working on my consistency and finishing well in the early rounds and I was able to accomplish that last night. Now we head to the finals! Be sure and watch on NBC at 3pm eastern and cheer loud, even if you are at home I am sure I will hear it!

]]>Olympic Trialshttp://www.justinwilcock.com/journal/2008/6/18/olympic-trials.htmlJustin Wilcock2008-06-18T13:57:50ZWell, they are here!  Today is the first day of competition for the 2008 Olympic Trials.  Exciting stuff!  The men and women compete tonight on the 10 meter platform.  Good luck everyone!

 I am getting excited for my competition to start.  I compete on Friday at 1pm and 7pm and then the finals are on Saturday at 3pm.  The finals will be shown live on NBC!  They are scheduled to start at 3pm eastern time so put on your no splash t-shirt and cheer me on!  It will be a great competition and I am really looking forward to it.  I have many family members and friends who have come out to support me and many who I know are supporting me from home.  My Grandmother ever overcame her fear of flying (only the 3rd time in her life!) just to come watch, look for her on TV!

I am really excited to attend this meet. I went last year and it is nice to go to Montreal when it is not the middle of winter! I love the city and get to brush up on my French, so it is always an enjoyable trip. I leave this coming Monday and will update the site with a schedule and if it will be broadcast any way.

]]>2008 CHINA OPENhttp://www.justinwilcock.com/journal/2008/1/29/2008-china-open.htmlJustin Wilcock2008-01-29T01:43:46ZI just got back from the World Cup Selection Camp in Columbus Ohio and had a great week there.  There was some amazing diving from everyone.  The competition was great and I came away with a new personal best!  I scored 510 on my fourth list of dives and even scored my fist 10's on the 3meter springboard!  It felt good to dive to my full potential.  I had struggled all week with my inward 3 1/2 and finally hit it on my last list.  I didn't qualify for the World Cup, but did get named to the China Open event in Shenzhen China.  I am really excited to go to China for the first time and compete against the best in the world in their home country! 

]]>Creepy Classichttp://www.justinwilcock.com/journal/creepy-classic.htmlJustin Wilcock2007-10-22T14:51:01ZI had my first diving meet as the Hamilton South Eastern Starz diving coach over the weekend.  It was a great event and the kids (all five of them) did great!  We all had a lot of fun and I even competed in a couple of events.  They have a rip contest (who can go in with the least amount of splash) and a clown dive contest.  A little nine-year-old won the rip contest and definitely put me to shame!  I had a great clown dive though, I did my accidental board straddle trick.  It doesn't hurt, but it definitely looks like it would.

]]>No Splash Dive Clinichttp://www.justinwilcock.com/journal/no-splash-dive-clinic.htmlJustin Wilcock2007-10-16T01:58:41ZLast weekend I hosted the No Splash Dive Clinic at the University of Indianapolis.  I had a great time working with some of the Indiana high school divers helping them to get ready for their upcoming season.  It was a small camp with only 9 divers and 2 coaches, but we had a great time and hopefully they were all able to learn a lot!  I would like to give a special shout out to the divers from Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, IN.  They made the long trek to Indy for the clinic!  Keep on the look out for pictures from the clinic.
