Well, it is with sadness that I make the official announcement of my retirement from the sport of diving. After 17 years of competitive diving (with five years of competitive gymnastics before that) I am hanging up the speedo to pursue other work opportunities.

I competed this past week at the final Olympic team selection camp in Knoxville Tennessee where I had a great week of diving. Unfortunately my individual competitions were not as strong as I would have liked and I didn't perform well enough to make the Olympic team. In the synchronized event Burkley and I put together four outstanding performances though and really showed everyone that we meant business. Unfortunately our degree of difficulty was just too low and in the end we came up short of being named to the team. I want to thank Burkley for a great few years of synchronized diving! I have had a great time training and competing with him, especially this past week. We put it all out there and did our absolute best!

I am excited for what the future holds! I don't know what I will be doing yet, but I do know that Carol and I will be moving to New York City at the end of September. So I guess the job search begins!

Thanks to everyone who has given me so much support throughout my career. My parents, Carol, my coaches and all the support staff that have been there with me throughout it all. This has been a glorious experience and I couldn't have done it without you!

Good luck to the 2008 Olympic team as they go to China, bring home the gold!
