WILC10%202.JPGI have been diving since I was 12 years old.  After a 5 year career in gymnastics I had the opportunity to try a new sport that was purely flipping and twisting.  After one practice I was hooked and have never looked back.  My career has taken me across the USA as well as across the world including competitions in Mexico, Canada, Germany, Russian and the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece!  I have been happily married since May 18, 2006 to Carol Acord.  Carol is an incredible photographer and was nice enough to leave New York City and move to Indianapolis to be with me!  You can see her work from the links page on the website.  I am originally from Smithfield Utah where my parents Scott and Cathy still live.

Keeping Focused During Meets

People often ask me what I do during a competition in between dives.  I always have my headphones on and a book to read.  The music that I listen to varies, but recently I have been listening to MUSE.  They are awesome and their music is total pump up music.  Some of my favorite songs are Butterflies and Hurricanes (great lyrics for competing) and Invincible.  You should check them out www.muse.mu.

My books vary, I like to read things that are easy to get into so I often read my favorite author John Grisham.  Some of the recent books that I have read, and recommend, are-

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Black Earth by Andrew Meier

Lazy B by Sandra Day O'Connor

The Alchemist by Paul Coelho

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
